HDTV Market is heating up!

FYI, I don't know if anyone has been keeping up with the HDTV market, but price wars are really heating up! Prices have significantly dropped in the past 6 months. It is making me want a HDTV even more, even though there are not any channels out there to watch

Right now Sony is introducing a new technology called SXRD (Silicon Xtal Reflective Display or something). It is supposed to have stunning blacks and brilliant colors. They have a 70" unit out right now with this technology and the sticker price was $12,000. Two new 50" and 60" units are coming out with 4k and 5k MSRPs. This just goes to show you where prices are heading!

JVC and Samsung (as well as Sony) will be introducing sets that will up-convert ALL signals to 1080p. This apparently presents a more 3D picture, with excellent detail and quality. While this won't mean much to smaller HDTVs, bigger TVs (55-70) will be really able to tell the difference.

It's an exciting time....we'll see what happens!
