The plaque contains lipids (intracellular and extracellular cholesterol and phospholipids), inflammatory cells (eg, macrophages, T cells), smooth muscle cells, connective tissue (eg, collagen, glycosaminoglycans, elastic fibers), thrombi, and Ca deposits. All stages of atherosclerosis—from initiation and growth to complication of the plaque—are considered an inflammatory response to injury. Endothelial injury is thought to have a primary role

The Ca appears late in the process

Just got back from seeing the movie Rambo. It was awesome, if you like lots of blood & massacre. Very realistic scenes involving chopped off limbs, blown off body parts, decapitation, etc. Stallone looks incredibly buffed for age 61.

I've used HGH. All it it did was make me very hyper. Not sure if it helped any injuries.

I know I might get a lot of shit from this one but here's the way I see it, your 60,how much longer do you have to live? 10-20 years? Why not take something that may help your quality of life, something that will keep you active instead of sitting in your Lazy Boy rotting away. You dont have much longer to live why not live your life to the fullest, I know I would rather die looking good than all wrinkly and broken down. Vince Vaughn said it best in Wedding Crashers "Old people die thats what they do"

Interesting perspective:

Nothing personal dr.jay but:

Come on lets be honest we both realize that Vince Vaughns comments
were lines from a movie script so Ide be willing to bet that when
Mr. Vince Vaughn get's to be 60 ( if he lives that long)
he won't be shooting off his mouth about what he
thinks old people do.
He may in fact even be glad he made it.
After all 60 is not old. Not by a long shot

Most people I know who make it that far (60) enjoy living
their lives and don't have time to be worrying about dying.
If your gonna say they only have 20 years Max left;
remember 20 years is one third of the life they have already
lived not to shabby time wise IMHO.

In fact most older folks (80's) get a kick out young people who are
nothing more than living corpses who don't have a clue who they
are or where they are going. It's sad but many of them
act like their brain dead and could use a shot of something to wake
their sorry butts up.

Ageing is a gradual process involving 2 categories

1. how one looks...most people get used to looking older(wrinkles, age spots, saggy ass, balding) as it proceeds over time.....Some people try and fight it even at an early age with whatever(creams, surgery etc)

2. Ones inner contentment....a gradual process of decreased flexibility, height loss, decreased stamina, decreased muscle mass... are things we accept over time...the more dramatic changes incontinence, impotence, pain limiting arthritis are conditions we seek treatment for...

hgh asks the question does one want to prevent the ageing process which most of us except over time.....and in a sense vince vaughn is correct...old people die that's what they do...but for the old people most of them are comfortable with dying ... they have accepted their age and the limitations that accompany ageing and are grateful for the life they have led...not to say u can't be playing golf at 90
