Who do you think Al Gore will endorse and why?

I'm guessing Obama because he looks as though he is taking command and you never want to back a loser. He will obviously wait until the delegate leader emerges before throwing his endorsement into the ring.

His politics are closer to Hillary; however, there is some obvious resentment left over from the Bill Clinton presidency and the subsequent Al Gore shot at the White House.

If and when he comes out for Obama Hillary will cringe with anger.

What say you?

BTW...I tried to make this a poll but could not figure out how to make that work and I need to run.

The only chance Dems have of beating the Rep is Obama.

OK, I'll bite...

Gore likely lost the election in 2000 due to the Clintons. And now he's reduced to flogging films in Cannes. There no love lost between the Gores and the Clintons. Obama has to balance the "This is our time"...."Yes, we can!" schpiel with the reality of being endorsed by the Beltway Insiders, so he may not want another endorsement from a Kennedy or a Shriver....or a Gore.

There is also the outside possibility, although faint, that with a nod to his former VP status and respect for the administration he served, that Gore may have enough class to refrain from endorsing anybody. With the exception of his Bearded Period, Gore has always displyed a bit of class that his father would be proud of, while the Clintons appear to be one Grape Nehi away from the jaw harp factory. Gore's endorsement conundrum is an unexpected encumberment that, IMHO, is another reason spouses (of either sex), of former presidents, should be barred from running, in the event they lack the class or breeding to recognize how utterly complicated it becomes to have a former president...as a spouse in the White House.

I mean, who in the world, with any leadership credentials, would want to share the VP spot with Bill?

Interesting take on things. Not endorsing Obama (I'd be shocked if he endorsed Hillary for the reasons you stated) would be classy and show some loyalty he was never given by the Clinton's. I'm not a big fan of Gore but I'd respect his decision if that were indeed to happen.

The real question is how long will he continue to introduce himself as the guy who was "supposed to be the next president of the United States"?
