I was JUST about to say the same thing. Not only is GC a very safe place, but it is truly a sight to behold, and an architectural beauty.

Oh yeah, NEWS FLASH! NYC (for the most part -- as any city, it has its bad areas) is a very safe place. 99.999% of New Yorkers (almost 9 million people) go through their daily lives without concerns of pick-pockets or perverts.

LOL...You East Coasters are too sensitive. I've been to GC Station and it is indeed a beautiful place even with the bums hanging around. That said we here on the West Coast have East LA...Richmond and Oakland to name a few. There are parts of the East Bay here in the San Francisco Bay area where Stop signs become optional.
