Another attempt at media bias toward street racing.

The headline reads "7 Killed in Drag Race" and "This could have been avoided."

When reading the story however, it appears to me that a drunk driver going down the road with no lights on simply crashed into bystanders at a race. I suppose this car could of have hit any group of people on the side of the road. Because the venue was for the moment a street race, all of the sudden the suspects actions were due to street racing?

Based on the headline, if the autopsy reveals that alcohol played a role and the driver wasn't racing, then it will swept under the rug.

I'm not sure where you saw that the driver of the car that struck the people was under the influence. The stories I have heard all state that the spectators had moved into the roadway to watch the racing cars drive off and the visibility was affected by tire smoke.

Street racing is bad any way you want to slice it. If they wanted to drag race in a public place, why not in an industrial park at an hour when no one is around? I just can't understand how you could accuse the media of being biased against street racing when street racing is illegal. (I do NOT care for the media so I'm not biased towards it.)

...all the stuff I could glean from the web said the driver would not be held under any charge.
A tragic situ and loss of life...street racing is thrilling and, dangerous, imo.

There are times and places for racing, and the street at night is not it. All forms of motor racing are dangerous and should only be attemped with every safety precaution in place.

You can not justify to be how street racing is good on a public street, that is simply careless and should be dealt with accordingly
