Dude should be ashamed for wearing a United States military uniform.

edit: some articles I've read say that the war probably drove this guy to do this because he needed to feel "stronger" or less of a target....so basically, we are fighting a war that turns (some) of our soldiers into these kind of people. But that it a whole other discussion we do not need to get into.

I'm as pissed as the next person about the screwed up moron throwing a puppy off the cliff, but what in the world does this have to do with leaving Iraq???

To do something like that, the guy has serious mental problems to begin with. I say we throw him off the cliff and be done with this.

The video made me sick and angry; however, it is equally offensive to blame this event on the military. Animal cruelty is a sickness which usually comes on early in a child's life. Saying the military caused this idiot to act in this matter is like saying football caused Michael Vick to do the same.

You need to rethink your own feelings before you make such an outrageous claim. I'd be willing to bet the incidence of animal cruelty in the military is much less than that which occurs in civilian life.

+1

I saw this on Yahoo. This is obviously not an indictment of all PGA Tour golfers, just Tripp Isenhour.

I read this article....
http://www.abcnews.go.com/Health/sto...4387128&page=1

And NO, I am not saying THIS is the reason we need to leave Iraq, you are right; but it is a side affect of our extended time there IMO. according to the article. Which I happen to agree with.
But I will alter the title. You may not agree with somebody's opinion, but you shouldn't reject it.

PLEASE...Some armchair therapist making a psychological conclusion from a single clip. Now he is a victim who should have our sympathy. How do you know or for that fact anyone know what this un-named solider was like as a kid? There are a multitude of factors which could have triggered his behavior. As I pointed out earlier...This syndrome usually comes on at an early age and is a sign of deeper trouble.

I'm not surprised the Left ABC news is using this event as did you to make a political point. Again...What part of Football induced Michael Vick to fight dogs...Must be the violent act of being sacked or chased out of the pocket.

Where exactly are you getting the number of civilians killed in the war at over a million? Just curious.

Here is the problem I have with these types of claims. These numbers are so exaggerated it takes all the steam out of what could be a good argument.

For starters both you and this article are calling every dead guy in the entire country a civilian and attributing that death to the war. There is this thing called murder and it doesn't only happen in inner city America. Secondly...A guy with a gun firing at Iraqi police or American forces is not quite as innocent as these partisan websites would have you believe. This egregious exaggeration shines doubt on the entire claim.

Example...Your source iraqbodycount who claims to count ONLY Civilian's killed had this on the front page of the website as an update:

Mosul: gunmen kill policeman; roadside bomb kills 1; 2 bodies found.

OK so one was a policeman...Hardly a civilian. A terrorist killed another (somehow we are to blame) and 2 bodies are found on the street...Assumed civilians. How can you take them serious when they contradict themselves and their methods don't agree with their mission statement?

That said...I agree with your initial premise that this puppy will tear at the heart strings of some who might otherwise dismiss the death of the war. That is a sad fact because life in all forms is precious.
