Talking 128 Conv't spotted today!

This is the first 1-series I have seen in person. I was pretty pumped! First of all, please excuse the photography. I was working with a 4-year old digital camera and limited time with cars breathing down my neck. I first saw the 128 as I pulled out in front of it and originally thought it was a 3-Series from a distance. After I glanced back in my rearview a few times, I could tell it was not a 3 by the shape of the headlights. I will have to say that it looked really nice and very well proportioned from the angles that I saw it. I wish I could have got a good front shot, but time was limited. I spotted this thing just north of Atlanta, but it had N.J. plates.

Anyway, I have to say that it looked pretty good in person and exceeded my expectation of what I thought it would look like. Can't wait to see the 135 coupe w/sport package.

I added that to my signature when I saw the video of that cop in Maryland freaking out on those skateboarders.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I thought it looked really good on the road. Like I said, from a distance I thought it was a 3 series. It really didn't look that much smaller to me, although it is. The 135 coupe will probably be my next BMW purchase. I won't buy it new, but will probably pick up a CPO in a couple of years. The only gripe I have about the 1 series, besides the fact that it could be a little lighter, is that the body is a little taller when compared to the 3 series. I think this may be more noticable in the 1 series convertible than the coupe due to the missing steel roof lines on top of the car. Also, the boot looks a little fatter as well. The rear of the new 3 coupe gets my vote for the best looks of the two. Overall I really do like the looks of the 1 series and I think it fits me just perfect regarding vehicle size, performance and fuel economy. Especially after owning 2 e30's and a current e36. This car is already a strong performer, but with a little tuning it will be an absolute rocket. Especially for the money.
