$350,000 vette ZR1 on Craigslist

With dealer markups pushing the Nissan GT-R's price tag to $129,000 and the BMW M3 Coupe's to $100,000, why not a privately sold 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 for $350,000? That's the price one man is asking (each) for two of his three pre-ordered ZR1s.

Apparently the man will be keeping one of the super-Corvettes for himself, but is selling the other two on Craigslist to cover the cost of his purchase. With a planned production run of only about 2,000 examples, the ZR1 will no doubt be in short supply, but we highly doubt that short of supply.
Chevrolet has yet to announce pricing for the Corvette ZR1, but all indications point to a price tag of around $100,000. That being said, even if dealers markup the ZR1's sticker price by 100 percent, you're nowhere near $350,000 — a staggering $300,000 more than a base 'Vette.

While the ZR1 promises to be a very fine car, we're not quite sure it can hang with any car sporting a $350,000 price tag from Maranello

...or, that 100G M3 or...

Back to the ZR1: imo, they shoulda kept the add-ons and tack-ons to
a minimum. Those "badges", at least in the pics, look like afterthought
stick-ons and the "ground effects" and bling wheels are not my choice.

Seems as if they let the newbie designers have a shot at it, near the
end of pre-production. I understand the need by ol'General to make
some distinction between the ZR1 and the Z06/C6, but it really smacks
of Hot Wheels to me, imo. And, as most of you know, I fookin love Vettes
and own one...my 2Cts is up.

I don't see how it's possible that this guy is getting 3. To get even 1 out of the first production roll practically requires contact with Lutz at this point.

...the "seller of 3" must have some real hook-up. It will be
interesting to see if the press/media follow up on his actual sale
and at what price(s).

The Z06 and new ZR1 have the best performance for the $$$. They're hard to beat. I recall the 2006 Z06 commanding a premium at dealers and private party sales when it came out, but 2 years later they're being discounted new at least in the Bay Area. The new ZR1 will also command a premium but no where near $250,000. I doubt the ad is real. I suspect it's someone trying to collect information.
