Last I checked lynching involved a rope and the Grim Reaper not the media and a pulpit....guess I missed something in transition.

No. You are incorrect. Although lynching has become synonomous with the noose, lynching is correctly defined as putting a person to death by mob action without due process of law.

I believe "lynch" in this case is more of an acronym base on the dictionary meaning to illustrate how Omaba's campaign could be "killed" by ignorant people who can't keep their mouth shut.

His pastor (the one you linked) and his big mouth is the proverbial rope that's doing the damage.

Beyond that there's nothing more to the comment.

It is not my definition. Further, I did not say these men were being lynched. But to put it in the context of this discussion... Obama's political career being lynched.... Pastor Wright's name and reputation as a minister being lynched.

How many of you have heard the "Chickens Coming Home to Roost" or "g#* d%&n" sermon in its entirety? It's available on Youtube. After vewing it, what are your thoughts?

If you want to be technical "yes". If you want to be real then we use all kinds of words out of their exact meaning to illustrate or drive a point (an intended meaning) home. That is to say "Frequently, acronyms are formed that use existing words (and sometimes the acronym is invented first and the phrase name represented is designed to fit the acronym). Everyone knows you can't "lynch" a campaign with a rope. So "lynch" in this case becomes an acronym.

But it's all good.......

I am not challenging you or anyone else Quick, just trying to provoke thought. And the misnomer is that the only way to "lynch" is by use of a rope. But you can kill a campaign through mob activity.
