This is why the US will take a back seat in the world.

A new nationwide survey of girls and boys found that a majority of children and youths in the United States have little or no interest with achieving leadership roles when they become adults, ranking "being a leader" behind other goals such as "fitting in," "making a lot of money" and "helping animals or the environment."

Hmmmm. Maybe they have figured out that a lot of (so called) leaders are idiots and they don't want to associate themselves with these retards.

When you survey kids what do you expect them to answer.

I agree. This the result of under 4,000 kids between 8 and 17 surveyed by the Girl Scouts. I don't know what age kids would understand what "being a leader" means but it's definitely not at the age of 8!

And kids in the USA are supposed to be non-conformist! They have been for many generations now...

When I was 8, being a "leader" meant, I had to have more responsibility, more rules to follow, more instructions to take, and just generally more stuff to do.

Who wanted that?!?!

So are we saying that young people are not smart enough see the bad decision making on the part of so called leaders?

Generally speaking i believe young people are smart enough to see what so called leaders are doing. And while i may have been a bit sarcastic with my first comment i believe you might be surprised at what they really think about the effectiveness of authority and rulership these days.

The survey was about whether the kids wanted to be leaders.

You have started a new topic. There was nothing that I saw about them being asked about the "... the bad decision making on the part of so called leaders"
