That's a huge friggin difference. Imo, you can not buy a CPO vehicle if you're sure it's not a dud vehicle. BMW duds usually have many problems from the beginning. I would look at non-CPO'd vehicles, but only look at ones with very few or no problems from day one. Those are the ones pretty good in quality/reliability in the long-run.

You need to find out where the car was mostly serviced, and get the service records from them.

are in love with, get him to, or let you, run the key at any
BMW stlr; you should get considerable info on service, maint.,
recalls, all work that was done at any BMW dlr.

CPO is a decent, if expensive safety net; the CPO "checkout" is
cursory, chump and slight, imo...but, the coverage is ok. As Boston
pointed out, you can save the dough going in, but be prepared to spend
it on a non-covered car.

Try to avoid falling in love; there are lots full of cars out there.
