Laura hit the nail on the head...sunscreen, very comfortable clothes and shoes. I believe your race starts around 5:00, so you'll have sun from the time you get there (I'm assuming a few hours early) until 7:30ish. I've found that the area where all of the merchandise trailers are is like a tanning booth. Make sure you put on sunscreen!

I always layer up on clothes when I go. It could be 85F at the start of the race, but once the sun goes down, it gets chilly.

Also, be prepared to be sitting in the car for a while after the race. It takes a long time for 170,000 people to exit when they are all leaving at the same time! Most people fire up the grill and tailgate for a few hours after the race.

I would recommend getting a chiro adjustment and a message for your neck before and after the race because your going to be turning your head from center to left the whole day

LOL. It does have it's upside though. At least you can see the cars for the entire lap from most seats at most tracks, not the case with typical road racing. Although, I love that too! Different experience and different type of fun.

Nice photos. I am sure you had a blast.

I almost ripped my TV off the wall when Kyle Bush got into Dale Jr. with less than 10 laps to go. I felt really bad for Jr. You could really tell in the post race interview how bad he wanted that win. I can't imagine how pissed the majority of the crowd was when that happened.

Oh my gosh the place went NUTS! I haven't been to a race in about 7 or 8 years. I thought the Dale Sr. fans were insane, but they have NOTHING on "Junior Nation." When Kyle spun him out they were throwing stuff, screaming, cussing, crying, you name it, they were doing it! It was insane! I really wanted to see Jr. win that race.
