Happy Spring!

Yeah, today's the first day of spring in case you didn't notice. It was beautiful here, about 50 degrees and sunny. Also, today would be the one year anniversary of when I got the X5

Ah, "spring"...a nice 160 mile run in the Vette, top down w/heater on, down to Deal'sGap and back. Only a couple dozen scooters down there today. A Mitsubishi something was on my azz all the way over Rt 28 to Tapoco and I finally pulled over & let him by: he disappeared from view.

Lil'lunchola at the Tail of the Dragon joint and then handed the keys to theMissus. She blipped the borlas pretty good, squawked out of the lot and drove all the way home.

The TailoftheDragon road itself may be one of the most overhyped roads in North America, but rt 28 and/or rt 129 in/out of there, are sensational, as is the nearby Cherohala Skyway. If anyone gets this way, we know Every fooking road in western NC.

I think this nice respite, weather-wise, is jes'Mother Nature screwing w/me. We've had serious April snows for the 3 previous winters I've been here.

Sunny and about 65 here in the sun... ...a little windy though, but now I'm looking forward to summer!

We've got a huge temperature range up here in the far north. We see temps as low as -20 (below zero) in the winter, not including the wind chills, and we see temps as high as 105 or so in the summer. I'd like it to be about 80 degrees and humid right now!

And it's about time.

I took advantage of the beautiful (51°F) weather we had yesterday to give Seabiscuit a quick 4-hour mini-detail, inside and out, even though I knew that the forecast for tonight into tomorrow called for rain turning to snow, affectionately referred to as the infamous so-called "wintery mix." Screw it. Don't care. Felt great to drive around all afternoon with the sunroof open, and the X5 all clean 'n shiny, free of road salt, and lookin' good -- for a few hours, at least.

Will wait a few more weeks to do the full detail routine.

At Last

It's cold today in Philly Town, but I don't care becasue Spring has sprung and all the sure signs signal its return: Daffodils and crocuses are a'pop'n up, robins are more numerous, March Madness is all the talk and the Phillies still can't play good baseball. What a great time of year.

It's horrible... I should stop posting for a while because none of my posts have any useful, relevant information... Like this one.
