Happy b'day!!

There were folks who were tellin me "oh 18 doesn't feel special, 21 does." Well, 18 gets you a lot of convenience since you can sign your own papers (w/o that pesky 'parent signature if minor' requisite). You can also buy your own cold or allergy medication that contains decongestant (Pseudoephedrine) which is great for me because my allergies have been killin me. And you can also buy cigarettes and lottery tickets.

Really?! Here it's a point system and it's like 8 pts your license is suspended. Don't forget insurance hikes. Always obey posted speed limits and regulations.

We still have that, but under 18 its 30 days for 1st offense, on top of all that. I drove to SC through I-81, and noticed as soon as I left NJ, everyone started driving the limit!!! The three other people who passed me were, incidentally, from Maine, and I was doing a GPS indicated 7 over (12 on the speedo ). It was unreal ... Are you pre-law? haha.

You meant I-85? IIRC I-81 passes from VA into TN, skipping NC and SC.

I-85 is lax on enforcement. NC in general is lax on enforcement, but their pavement needs work. The speedometer in E90s is 5 km/h optimistic; the car knows its true speed under hidden menu item 8.0.

In the South, speeding is the norm. On I-85, I set the cruise at 140km/h because the flow of traffic is that fast. Those North Carolina drivers really like to drive quickly (and run red lights). And if you do <110km/h (68mph) on I-64 west of Richmond, you'll be totally run off the road even in the right lane. Enforcement is tight north of Fredericksburg, VA and all of NoVA.

No, I'm not pre-law. But disclaimers lessen my liability for any actions that may or may not result as a result of my words, written and/or expressed.
