A sad day for me.
That is also a reason I am selling it. I just haven't been driving it very much. It has sat in my garage for months without getting any attention. There was a fine layer of dust on it. I felt better after telling the fianceé that it was sold and that I was sad. She said she was a little sad too but we will have other cars. She did offer that I not build a swimming pool and keep the car. When I instantly said that I want the pool more than the car I realized I'm really okay with the decision. My thoughts then turned to what to buy down the road to replace it. Her suggestion for a convertible was a Mini Cooper S convertible. That's one of the reasons I love her. She's very understanding of my obsession and need for a nice ride.Another weird feeling I got was that since the buyer is a guy I work with on occasion that I would feel bad if there was something wrong with the car. I honestly know of no problems with it and it has been cared for by me. No major oil leaks or coolant leaks that are all too common in Boxsters. It's just something I worry about needlessly. The car will be gone by the end of next week and possibly as early as Saturday.

I understand, Kevin. I gave up my beloved C-Class two years ago to buy the X5. I love the X, don't get me wrong, but I LOVED that car. I was so sad, I would not drive it to CarMaxx (wife did), and after I signed the paperwork, I turned around and would not look at it. (a little pathetic, I know.)
Anyway, sounds as though your future wife is perfect for you - in that she understand your passion for cars. I'm sure you'll have a turbo e90 before you know it. Juan

I know the feeling well. I was in a similar situation a few years ago watching my M3 cabrio driving away in the hands of its new owner.
The Mini Cooper S cabro would be awesome!!

You are lucky that your future wife is understanding. Cooper S should be a good choice.

Sorry that you're letting it go Kevin. Get yourself Forza or GTA or something to figure out your next ride
I sold my old 89 325i to the bag room guy at my club. It's had a few issues since then even though it was pretty much problem free for fifteen years for me (after figuring out an injecter problem during the first two months of ownership). I don't feel too bad because I gave him a good price on it.

I understand how you feel
. It was tough to let my Boxster go too. And today in San Francisco, it was Boxster weather, 90 degrees, and I miss that car! It will be ok.

That would hurt.
That car is on my short list of cars to own. Keep your chin up. |

Thanks for the sympathetic words. I know, after all, it's just a car but it has been fun. It was my first Porsche but certainly not my last. I enjoyed some good track days with it and will not soon forget my spectacular spin at Buttonwillow.
A learning experience to say the least. We'll see what I get next. The plan is for the woman to take over my X5 while I get something new. An E39 M5 is high on the list right now as is an E46 M3. I'll definitely be talking about it here when the time comes.
