I think the IBM is made better, better material, but thanks to Mac Ox the Mac runs better. The Mac store service is way better than anyone else.

Until or if Microsoft replaces Vista IBM is second to Mac.

Do you have any reliable facts or surveys to back those statements up or is that just based on your personal experience?

Are you talking about the hardware, operating system, or customer service here? Microsoft is software company; Vista is operating system; IBM is hardware and software (and not in laptops anymore) and Mac is hardware...

If you're talking about customer service/support, Velocity Micro has been rated second to Apple...

You can always install Linux on the IBM. Which will rival OSX.

I think the #s are skewed, I would think that most people bring Mac's back for repair because they are unfamiliar or it may be harder to get to the 'guts' - I would love a Mac laptop, but would be more hesitant to crack it open and fix any hardware defects it may have. So I'd bring it in for repairs. As far as any of the PC/windows based laptops - I'd troubleshoot it to death before I sent it back to manufacture or repair tech. Even then I'd probably just reinstall windows xp.

i.e. (no pun intended), my vista on both my PC and laptop have decided to take forever to bring up the "connect to" window for wireless connectivity. Not to mention Vista has dropped my physical Nic card from the OS as well.

1) CR repair history shows small difference 20%+/- for all laptops

2)The Mac operating system is better, my experience and you can also read about tons of trouble with Vista.

3) When I say IBM I mean Thinkpad, made by the same company now as before.

Notes to self:

1. Stop responding to Apple fanboys.

2. Ignore all Mac posts (even though they seem to be unnecessarily high volume on a BMW forum).

Note to self listen to others and review the facts, some time even I can be wrong.

Thanks to Mac posts I move to a Mac, I was also a windows user that did not like Macs.
