Honestly though; Joe six pack wont see any decrease for months and even then the amount wont be much.

Most people around here are to young to remember that during the war people were mobilized with a national advertising campaign with hard-hitting ads about what needed to be done to accomplish the war effort. People cooperated for the cause like never before and of course goals were met.

Today the people who are at the forefront of the fuel issue are not really concerned about the price of fuel at all. It serves their purpose for fuel to rise in cost no matter what the outcome. For the population as a whole there is no national issue that requires the effort of everyone to cooperate for.

Just think of how much money would be lost to those in the oil business if people really said “enough” and a national advertising campaign with hard-hitting ads about what needed to be done to reduce the cost of fuel would occur.

Fuel cost would fall dramatically, people would lose their jobs,
government would have to bail out the oil companies (they are doing that already right?).

It’s a vicious cycle with no end in site.

Yeah we can talk about drill more, drill here drill there, the results will be the same. As long as greed is the motivating force behind the goals of men I believe we can expect more of the same. Some other issue will pop up and we’re off and running again with more of the same.
