Get a 1/2" drive flex bar, torque wrench, and socket, and spend the rest of your money on a small trolley jack and a set of jack stands. Absolutely no need for an air impact wrench unless you are doing it at least weekly.

Ha! I wasn't asking how dumb I am with my money. I was asking what air equipment I need to take off my lug nuts. I just want to know what type of impact wrench and compressor size I need.
I could also use the air compressor to fill my tires, blow off dust in my computer case or other stuff. Sears or Home Depot clerks wouldn't know what to sell me; I trust you guys more.

OK.
Stay away from the Craftsman impact wrench, and go with a CP or IR. There are reasonable Craftsman wrenches, but they don't include the one you show. It will cost several times as much but will be worth it. Torque is double at least. Consumption will be just over 4 cfm. Lubricate it regularly. No problem with a Craftsman compressor, but the one you show is for a nail gun. You need something more like 1.6 hp. 26 or 33 gallon tank, preferably on wheels. Add in an accessory kit with a tire chuck inflator, and air nozzle. If you have the compressor, a 3/8" drive air ratchet is handy. Get Craftsman impact sockets. Make sure you don't use the impact wrench to install the wheels, you still need the torque wrench. Don't use the air compressor when you need clean air, such as blowing out computer parts. Good luck.

Darn you burst my bubble!
The tools you recommend are at the higher price spectrum. No doubt that Chicago or Ingersol would be a great tool in my box. However, I just want a low end way of using an air tool to remove my lugs when I swap out my wheels. I will have to rethink this. Thank you for the detail info. Take care! Quote:

Good timing on thread. My Craftsman torque wrench broke and I am looking at options with compressor as I do 3 sets of wheel changes twice a year(on different cars). So 6x4=24 wheels changed and therefore want to save time. Good torques wrenches are north of $70.
Can this compressor kit be useful? Its for $200 at Costco(in store only) They have more online Campbell Hausfeld HL410199DA Ultimate Garage Kit 2 - Automotive equipment kit Hand tool kit includes wrenches, ratchets, screw drivers, pair of pliers, adjustable wrench, allen wrenches, sockets, and socket extensions. The air compressor has a customer-friendly design, CAST IRON cylinder, oil-lubricated pump Air tools include 1/2" impact wrench, 3/8" air ratchet, general purpose spray gun, 2 in 1 air nailer/stapler, and a tire inflation gauge, 1/2" and 3/8" impact sockets, 1" brad nails, and 1" finishing staples. Hose reel comes with a 25' PVC air hose and leader hose. Inflation accessories include blow gun, tire chuck, pencil tire gauge, dual foot tire chuck, rubber nozzle, safety nozzle, inflation needle, and tapered inflation nozzle., http://www.shopping.com/xPC-Campbell...e_Garage_Kit_2

I find Craftsman Professional to be the best bang for the buck.

Nice find on that Costco compressor! From what I understand the maintenace on oil compressor is a lot of work. Unless you use it a lot.
Best you go for the oil-free compressors. I read that these units don't need to be drain from the water on the bottom of the tank.

I don't know if I would say maintenance is a lot of work, but lack of maintenance can cause a lot of problems. Maintenance is relatively simple, it is just critical that you do it.
