Question Blackberry battery life

How long does your Blackberry hold a charge? I just got one a month or so ago. I do not use it as a phone. I only use it to check my email when I'm not in the office. The battery is drained within 2 days. I only put it on the charger when the battery is down to one or no bars and take it off the charger as soon as the charge is complete.

I have the same issue with my cell phone. I am not a cell phone talker. My phone was dead after 24 hours. I recently got a new battery but I still have the same issue. At least now it lasts 2 days.

I'm starting to think I have an electrical current running though my body that sucks the life out of batteries.

I charge my BB every night and the battery lasts all day.
The Blackberry is a good cell phone as well as email.

I keep a cell phone for two years so battery life is not a issue.

I have Verizon service so lets not talk about the I-Phone.
I suggest to my daughter that maybe we should switch to At&T and she said that all her friends have Verizon and it has better/larger service area.

Unfortunately most current PDAs and cell phones have extra bells and whistles: dual color screens, bluetooth etc , all that extra stuff requires extra power. You could try to turn off unneccessary features and try reducing brightness and lcd power on time, most allow you to set to like from 10 to 3 seconds.
Hope it helps

Blue - I have Verizon and love the service. AT&T was terrible. No iphone here.

Thanks Alex - I'll have someone that knows what the hell they're doing change my setting. Way to many gadgets for me.

Try turning the bluetooth off.
Pearl = 3 days, depending on which application is running

Cheers,

From what she has told me in past, she does not use cell phone much. May be after getting BB it changed.

I have a palm 700P. When i first got it the programs running in the background contributed to battery drainage to some extent. But the bottom line was the battery was bad. Since then the phone can go without a charge for almost 4 days. So I agree that phone program management could be an issue but BB's should have this issue taken care of otherwise people would be complaining up the kazoo. Give this site a look see for more info. http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...lackberry.html
