Polar Bears...and...Oil
So a new bill was passed to allow 5 companies to look for oil in territory known to have the bulk of the Polar Bear population. Of course environmental nazis were up in arms on this one. I was wondering, am I in the minority that thinks it is just fine and dandy for oil drilling to occur, responsibly, in animal rich environments? Why is it that some people feel this overwhelming need to place animals higher then the general populous welfare. Maybe they don't realize that oil/petroleum does more then just create gasoline.
One of their pro-animal rationales was that "..they are sensitive to noises and smells in their environment." Ah, is there an animal that isn't?
