IMO, it is a choice combined with encouragement from an attitude, free will and environment. I don't believe you are genetically bias one way or the other, aside from having a need to reproduce. I think a lot of heat was placed on homosexuality by religious institutions and homosexuality was rampant for a large portion of human existence, but for some reason the latter centuries have ridiculed it. Not to say I think it is a good choice or lifestyle, and IMO I don't think is should be pressed as a valid option on the youth but degradation and 2nd class citizenship are something I don't think should be appointed to the decision.

Not quite, people choose to engage in acts and exhibit behaviors which are frowned upon all the time and have for years.

Just look at tattoos and piercings or some illegal behaviors such as crime. Many trends adopted by youth have flown in the face of society for decades. Being different is almost human nature but I would not go as far as to say these choices are genetic.

That said, I do feel that there is a genetic factor which leads to predispositions. Our brains are very complex and there has been shown to be an organic nature to behavior on some levels.
