I'm sick of little kids runnning up and down the plane treating it like its their playroom and no parents in sight.
Understanding that there are some extenuating circumstances in this story but the general premise is the same - control your kids on a plane or don't fly. |

I flew southwest from ONT to OAK this weekend. That's the only route that I fly with southwest. I try to avoid it if possible though. I don't understand the deal with the A-B lining up thing. Well I understand how it's good for the Airline, but it reminds me of lining up for the school bus as a kid. It's pretty funny how some people with "A" act like they got a first class ticket or something.

Hard to pass judgement from the back row of the Peanut Gallery...
the woman had her hands full with 4 kids, and 2 of them really challenged, and them on their "first airplane ride". It is Public Transportation, albeit under onerous restrictions and a seemingly slightly different set of rules/decorum... This kind of news item isn't original as I recall similar situs in the past few months. I'm not a proponent of screaming, mis- behaving kids in any public situ, but the airlines seem a lil' full of themselves these days, in almost all ways and manner, (these decades, lol!). I used to fly a hundred+ times per year, for 25 years...since I pulled the ripcord 8 yrs ago, I've flown to CA for the WestFestMeet and to SA for our Antarctica trip...flying is my last choice in getting somewhere, these days. BR,mD

I come from pilots. If someone disrupts a flight, the captain is supposed to land on the spot, and have the Cops meet them on the ground. Other than the usual 'Southwest Customer Service sucks', it seems they were pretty damn good to let them continue on at all. Its a bad thing to think, but does anyone else think this woman us using her child's condition as a soap box?

I'm guessing it's a "We had to be there" kind of thing to really get the sense of it. But her comments seem to indicate that she may be a bit more tolerant of her children in public then she should be.
