I've had dogs in the past but not cats. Can't say that I'd ever own a cat. Nothing against cats as animals but I think they're useless as pets. They're basically a stuffy that poops, pees, eats, scratches up your furniture and makes some people sneeze.

I have nothing but distain for some cat owners. They think their cat has a right to poop in everyone else's yard. You'll see dog owners walk their dogs and pick up their poop. When was the last time any cat owner did that?

I've always had dogs from German Shepherds to cocker spaniels. My wife has a cat that just lies around like a piece of furniture or rug. Dogs are much more fun.

If you live on a farm, cats might catch rodents around the house..or sumting. That's why they keep cats around in India anyway. They're about as useless as can be for being a companion.

Hello cmyX5go, this is Danaka. I'm Ishniknork's cat. Since you're allergic to me I won't hold that post against you.... When I'm curled up in his lap I may 'resemble' a fur ball, but I am definitely not sneaky or spiteful.

My last cat, GG, was that way for 18 years. She adored me as I did her. It was almost like having another person in the house, a real member of the family. I have another cat now but I still miss her so much.

That's because they have to although not many dog owners in my area do that. I've got the smelly, messy shoes to prove it . Cats dig a hole and bury their poop, or pee. At least every one I've ever owned did. Both GG and my new cat Danaka won't even do it outside, they came/come inside to use the litter box! (Such good little ladies they were/are..) When I was a kid my mom used to get mad because our cats would dig a hole and do it in her flower bed. The poop wasn't so bad but the ammonia in the pee hurt her flowers.

Dogs will poop anywhere. In the middle of the yard, sidewalk, back porch, you name it and they'll do it there! And if you don't pay them enough attention or leave them alone too long they may even resort to peeing in your bed or pooping in your shoes to get back at you!

What was that about snakes with fur???

No matter what anyone say's about a cat you will never see a seeing eye cat period. Now we know that a dog is way better than any cat.

Touche' QS.

...then there is that cat at the nursing home that gives comfort to those that are about to pass away when nobody else is around for them.
