Proposed Highway Fuels Tax Increase...
maybe I missed it...I couldn't find a "clean" version of the proposal, so I used the linked site. Some of the stuff I've read about this suggests the highway/construction companies lobby had some "push" on this. What a surprise...I sort of wonder what "they" are doing with all the dough over the past few years; the interstates I drive on look like works in progress and lifetime employment projects, imo. Oh, and Amtrak...what a concept: if they had started on good railroads about 1950, or so. And, "we" elected these idiots? Band of morons...hence the sub 20% approval rating. I was debating this, and other topics, with my soon to be bro-in-law. We both came to the conclusion that the 'masses' seem to think that politicians don't work for them. They pay their salary, yet let them roam the country side with scepters telling the minions what is good for them.
These are OUR LEADERS, we can change them and direct them any time we like if we could just peel our collective lower halves off the couch and leave the 50" flat screen for 2 seconds.

Oh my dear friend, It's not the election process at all. It's the people that get elected and the people who vote. None of them have a clue.
