Gluing the wound is fine, if you did it correctly, of course. There is a bit of technique involved to do it properly, meaning in such a way as to heal quicker and minimize the scar.

You don't put the glue inside the wound, but rather oppose the edges of the wound and glue the outside of the skin. Glue inside the wound will delay healing, leave a foreign body inside the wound, possibly lead to infection, etc.

Additionally, for all this to work well, you cannot apply the glue to a wound that is actively bleeding. Glue doesn't stick well to blood.

Crazy Glue is a cyanoacrylate compound. So is the medical grade stuff. The medical version has some differing properties, of course, as regards sterility, viscosity and delivery devices, but it is nonetheless very similar. I used it on my son's foot laceration at a friend's home a couple months ago. Did fine.

Don't try to remove the glue. You are correct, in that it will come off as the wound heals under it. Usually 5-7 days. You can wash the glued wound with soap and water, but don't scrub and don't apply any creams or ointments until the glue is gone.
