The 50K difference is the first thing you notice ....The Vantage is a V8 while the DB9 is a V12. The DBS is the one to have.......Phil

Ohhhh, I was confused. I thought the Vantage was the more expensive of the two. When I had this conversation with someone a while back they said:
The DB9 is like Ferrari's version of the F430
and the Vantage was like Ferrari's version of the 599GTB.

But I guess it's the other way around... I happen to like the Vantage and the DB9s.. Both are hot cars. I've just never known much about them.

Which car is more track worthy?

I'll try and answer as many of the question on the thread as I can remember !

The DB9 is indeed more expensive than the Vantage. It basically is a four seater (barely) and has a V12 engine. The Vantage is a two seater with a V8.

I was actually very fortunate to drive the DB9 on the track as part of Supercar Life. My impression was that it is a great GT car, but definitely not a track car. The pro-driver I was driving with said that the Vantage was in his opinion a much better track car and having driven both, I would agree with him. Though neither could, in my opinion, hold a candle to Ferrari, Lambo etc.

My personal opinion between the DB9 and Vantage is that the Vantage definitely has a tighter driving feel (less body roll, more road feel) and I personally prefer its looks i.e. I don't like the length that the 2+2 DB9 configuration adds to the car. IMHO the DB9 is a little too gentrified, the Vantage looks and feels more aggressive.

The interiors materials of the two cars are very similar i.e. leather/suede throughout, pretty much the same instrument cluster etc.

This is all by no means dinging the DB9 as it is a stunning vehicle, so just my personal preference.

The DBS is tuned version of the DB9 and is around 260K give or take. I don't know if saying it is Aston's equivalent to BMWs M or MBs AMG is an appropriate comparison, but regardless, this is definitely an awesome car and way out my price range! But it sure is a beaut and I would not turn one down if it were given to me!!!!!

I think someone asked if the Vantage feels underpowered: For me it does not. 0-60 in under 5s and a top end of 175mph is more than enough for me. Having said that, if you are looking for Ferrari or Porsche Turbo like performance then this car will feel underpowered. I will say that I love the Sportshift transmission (much more than SMG) and the sound that the V8 engine makes once it goes over 4K RPM is just amazing.

As far as which car is my daily commute, it is definitely the X5. It is just so comfortable and easy to drive on a day to day basis.
