I have always wondered if it would be like Vietnam eventually, an attractive vacation destination. Has lots of history and interesting ruins. But, will it ever be Dubai? Dubai, though, seems to cater to the super-rich. But, maybe I am wrong about that.

Iran has potential as the educated younger people seem to be sane and interested in the rest of the world. I have heard Syria is a fabulous vacation spot with fantastic well-preserved buildings (except for the one Israel bombed) and good food.

Morocco, Libya, Egypt and Israel are good tourist spots and I think Afghanistan has a lot of potential. Interesting that many of the women they hid are hot and might supplant Venezuela as a source of beauty contest winners some distant day.

I see no hope for Saudi Arabia at all. When the royalty has all fled the country with their billions in western banks, what will be left? Filthy oil wells and nasty fundamentalists. We will pay Iraq to invade that place next time.

So, yeah, I would visit if it was reasonably safe. The cradle of civilization, beautiful desert sunsets, middle-eastern food always seems to be good, probably lower costs than Paris, London or Rome. Obviously a long way to go. All these countries will be competing for the tourist dollar. I see free airline tickets to get people there.

I always though bombing Saddam's palaces was stupid. Like he was home? There were built by fantastic craftsmen and could serve as focal points for future tourism, museums, etc. Let's face it; there wasn't much to bomb.

You're the one who injected the bombing of the "building" in Syria by Israel. Your being sarcastic did not hide how you really feel about Israels actions. I answered using specific examples in history and concluded you're on the wrong side of history.

We differ in ideology...You are sympathetic with radical Islamic nations and have disdain for America and Israel when it comes to how we confront these entities.

Personally I feel the war with Iraq was a bad idea and Bush has been a terrible President at a time we needed strong leadership. That said I don't believe two wrongs make a right and we need to fix what we started to the best of our ability.
