Favorite chinese food - Page 4

I wouldn't eat chinese food if you paid me, all the restaurants fill it with fat, msg, eewww. you feel bad just looking at it.

I like making spring rolls though, with shrimp or marinated chicken. Add peanut sauce, and you have a healthy, tasty meal.

Last night we ate at:
Mei Long Village. It was very good.

Supreme Dragon in San gabriel is probably the best Siao long bao in LA. There's a popular place in Arcadia but I don't think its any good. The best in the world is definitely in Shanghai.

When I went to Shanghai, even the vinegar tasted different than the US.

Now since we don't go to NYC so much, we've started to buy frozen ones. The best brand we've tried so far are "wei-chuan Pork Mini Buns."

Those look like some good dumplings right there and remind me of Dim Sum. I miss Dim Sum and good chinese food... real authentic chinese food and not the americanized garbage

Better than Din Tai Fung (www.dintaifungusa.com)? I've been to the one in Taiwan as well, which is much, much better, but I haven't found a place better than DTF here in the US.

Supreme Dragon yet..

I understand that DTF is the popular place with the long lines but also understand, it's not the best. So why wait on long lines for mediocre food?

I think you did not go to Supreme Dragon, you went to MEI LONG VILLAGE. Because MEI LONG VILLAGE is the restaurant that has the small place next door. The small place next door is called J & J Restaurant, which I have not tried yet but will try this week.

I think so when it comes to the taste. The DTF in arcadia isn't good at least the times I've gone their slb have no flavor at all. I've been to the one in taiwan too and its pretty good.

Supreme dragon used to occupy both mei long and j&j. It used to be one resturant but last time I went I noticed it was gone and went to the smaller one (which apparently is what remains of dragon.) . J&J has really good pork chop rice. Next time you go, I recommend you get that. It was pretty cheap too.
