Cool shots! I wonder, were sportseats not available with sport package back in 2001? Liking the 3-pedal though; not available on the current X5s unfortunately.

I'm close to overtaking you on the mileage though!

Nice posts, and congrats, mD. How'd you convince that good looking woman to pose in the delivery shots with you? Part of the closing the deal deal?

Have you ever had any tranny issues knowing its stick? I love seeing the stick in the X5s.

Thank you to all, for the views and kind words!

cmyX5go: I might still have those shorts around, but
the sneaks are 4 pairs newer generation since then; all
my sneaks look sorta the same, though. No tennis whites.

AzNMpower: Dunno about the sports seats; this car was
spec'd by the ordering dlr, (Hendrick in Hickory,NC), and
found by our selling stlr, after the fact...I had no say in what
came on it. It does have Sport, Prem,Cold,Activity and Moonroof,
per the window sticker that I still have.

Haigha: Thanks for the props...V was 7 yrs younger then, but
she still looks very fine to me. I look better now, then then...

xRide: never a problem with the 5 spd manual tranny other than
1st gear is a stump puller and the lack of an OD top gear. Synchros
are beatable when cold and linkage is occasionally notchy, hot or
cold. I had the trans fluid changed out to Redline last year at ~60K.

DocKewl is my hero when it comes to mileage, etc!

Thanks again for all the kudos and views.

Once... just ONCE, I'd love to see a pic of you NOT wearing shorts and a polo shirt.

Congrats, David. She still looks amazing. And, the X looks pretty good also.

Sport seats weren't standard with the 3.0i Sport package in 01 and 02. $400 option. Our 01 Sport didn't have them either.

Ah I see. I wasn't much into the X5 back then. Back in those days, I believed BMW was a car brand, not an SUV brand. I still believe that today, despite what BMW NA wants me to think.

Back in those days, BMW was more profitable as well.
