it would take a lot of subsidy from your wireless carrrier to bring the cost down considering the n96 is priced at around 900$ the n97 is gonna be around the 1100$ mark unlocked that is so not in the next 7 months atleast

That being said, the typing DOES suck. I'm with B-line. I've had the iPhone since it came out (both versions), and I STILL have a hard time typing on it.

developed an app that would give users a tactile feeling when typing. I tried it with a friend's old iPhone (I never jail-broke mine), and it was pretty cool...! I hope Apple does something similar. Surely, they must be investigating this...

I used to have a Nokia 9300, and I really do like Nokia's communicators. As an iPhone user, I don't really need the keyboard. What I like is the high resolution screen. My 9300 had a 640 x 200 resolution screen. Those wide screens are great for web browsing. The new N97 has a 640 x 360 screen, much better than the 480 x 320 iPhone screen. Hopefully the next iPhone will increase the screen reslution to better compete. Also, the 5 Megapixel autofocus camera would be nice.
