I don't...The touchscreen on the iphone is so good that adding a keyboard would just add bulk...If you've never used an iphone for any extended period of time, you just don't know what you're talking about. I came from 7+ years of blackberry use, and am typing just as fast, if not faster on my iphone.

Too true The US misses out on tons of great phones. I also think the way some of the plans work is ridiculous. You should NOT have to pay for incoming text messages since you can't control who will send you one and I am all in for the idea of free incoming calls.

I read a bit on the Sony X1 and N97 and they do sound great and will most likely be less prone to screen breakage. I've already gone through 2 iPhones and if I hadn't stumbled upon an iPhone 3G in our closet (I'm guessing it'll be an Xmas gift to me from my GF) I would prob have switched over.

I had the first generation Iphone days after it was first released. Got the second generation Iphone days after if was released.

I think that I could qualify that I've had it for an extended period of time and the typing sucks. Might it be faster? Maybe! But faster isn't always better.

It takes complete concentration to type on it with both eyes and hands. It doesn't have any tactile feedback. And it's impossible to multi-task and type with an Iphone with any skill.

With a BB, I could be cooking, typing, talking on the phone and walking the dog at the same time. With an Iphone, you just can't do that. There is no feel for the raised keys.

So while some Iphone users may want to label those of us who don't like typing on the Iphone as non-users who just don't get it, or haven't really experienced the phone, the truth couldn't be further away.

All of my Iphone friends collectively agree that typing on it sucks and typing on a BB was better. I would gladly take the bulk for a phone I could actually use as a pda.

I love the iPhone, and I would not give it up for anything. And I do think it's the best phone/pda in the world...

That being said, the typing DOES suck. I'm with B-line. I've had the iPhone since it came out (both versions), and I STILL have a hard time typing on it.

The funny thing is, for version 1.0 (that could be jail-broken) some folks
developed an app that would give users a tactile feeling when typing. I tried it with a friend's old iPhone (I never jail-broke mine), and it was pretty cool...! I hope Apple does something similar. Surely, they must be investigating this...

Love the iPhone... hate the typing on it.
