A 2 or 3 second wait in my opinion in normal for the Laptop.

When the Laptop goes to sleep i believe that in order to
preserve the batt it may suspend the network. When it awakes
it takes a few seconds to search for the network and connect.

If you decide to keep the CPU active and the screen dark
you will draw the battery down.

Again 2 or 3 seconds?? No big deal.
AS far as Apple discussions here in the
lounge are concerned..... Honestly who cares?....
Can't be half as bad as politics........

I sensed some sarcasm concerning Mac users. Don't be a hater, be a lover.
Either way it is just few inches of advantage, once again nothing to write home about.
