You haven't answered my question:

Have you been in an 08/09 CTS or CTS V?

A V has a crapload more HP than a 5er. The new ones are over 550 hp.

My dad has a 2006. Decent car. No real problems besides the battery draining(Common in GM car batteries) and the A/C that smells like fungus when you first turn it on. Other than that, its not bad.

Maybe I'll stop by the Auto show this year to see if domestic automakers have improved as much as I think they have. Heck, Jeremy Clarkson really likes the CTS-V.

The biggest problem I have with Cadillac is their poor brake + turn signal taillight programming that ought to be banned in the US. Doesn't apply to EU models of course.

You probably didn't mean it to be funny, but I laughed out loud when I read this response.

Been a tense night around the house. That was a good one.

So their use of ultra-high visibility LED brake/turn signal bothers you?

This is an annoying trend particularly bad with domestic carmakers.

The brake lights double as the turn signals, which is somewhat confusing in urban areas. Thus, when you indicate left while braking, the left brake light blinks instead of having normal brake lights + separate (preferably amber) indicators. Not surprisingly, the EU (and thus, the rest of the world) doesn't permit this since it can get pretty darn confusing in a sea of traffic.

dude... so does the 3er.. if that's a reason why you don't like a car, that's a pretty pathetic excuse..

On the new caddys there are two columns of red LEDs, the inner most is brake and the outer is turning signal, I believe. Anyways you aren't driving from the back bumper so what does it matter. If you get rear ended it's their fault.
