I feel dogs are just like kids, its ultimately the Owners(parents) fault if said dog does any harm, bottom line, responsibilty is what is needed. Regardless of how the dog (or child) acts it is the owners responsiblity to act accordingly to protect that dog from itself and other people, no matter what the dogs past or personality. .....responsibility is the problem here, nothing else

So, I read the article 3 times and never noticed anything about the pit bulls owner. Don't you think it is highly probable these dogs are strays? In which case they probably have a higher aggression rate than house dogs.

It's like trying to compare the trained bear at the zoo with one in the wild. One is trained by humans to ride a bicycle and the other is trained by nature to bite my head off.

Humans commit far more 'murder' than Pits do, we aren't running around killing all of them

Personally, I'd rather we crack down on drunks than dogs...really...um...pretty sure there are more drunkard related deaths and problems than Pitbulls...but hey...PB's can't talk back..nice..easy..simple..target.

Public Safety: Two pit bulls attack woman walking her dog
2:00 a.m. January 13, 2009

CHULA VISTA: Two pit bulls attacked a woman early yesterday as she walked her dog in downtown Chula Vista, police said.

Two men who lived nearby heard the woman screaming for help about 6:30 a.m. on Jefferson Avenue near K Street.

Lawrence Kijanka, 30, said he and another man screamed at the dogs, waved their arms and chased the pit bulls about a block away.

Kijanka said his girlfriend called 911 and police and paramedics responded minutes later to help the woman, who was on the ground protecting a small black dog.

“I heard a woman scream and I heard a dog scream. It woke me up,” Kijanka said. “I ran outside in my sweat pants and saw a woman on the ground, with blood on her forehead and apparent bite marks on her arms and legs.”

The pit bulls were placed under quarantine, said Chula Vista spokeswoman Liz Purcell. –M.A.

I want to say that the subject of Bit Bulls have been discussed so many times that I questions the need for this thread?
