Possible Future Garage Purchase

I want to get a lift for the garage in the future and I think I may have just found the one I want: http://www.maxjaxusa.com/index.html

it's (sorta) PORTABLE, in that you can unbolt it and move the posts out of the way when you want! You could even have multiple mounting spots in your floor for different width vehicles, etc. Still waiting to see how much it will cost

What's the height of lift?

Info lists the lifting height as 45" (48" with some 3" extension piece). Not bad for most work I would think (and unless you have a high ceiling, you probably can't lift real high anyway).

Having installed many concrete anchors over the years this caution would concern me.

Each MaxJax™ lifting system is supplied with ten drop-in anchors and ten 5/8" x 2" high-yield hex bolts. The holding power of the anchors depends on the quality of the concrete and where the anchors are placed. If the concrete is old and brittle, the holding power of the fasteners will be reduced. Likewise, if an anchor is placed too close to the edge of the concrete or too close together, force generated by the anchor may break the concrete. The recommendation is that anchors should be placed no closer than 4-1/2" from the edge of the concrete or other anchors.

I also noticed that the demo cars are small and looking at the arms for the
lifting it appears that the steel is a bit thin. So without passing judgement
I wonder if it could lift my 6000Lb beast on a regular basis let alone what the continued
effect of installing and removing the pillars over time would cause to the concrete anchors without using epoxy.

If the 4-post D-7 @ costco is any indicator, it shouldn't be anywhere near 10k

I forget what the max lift weight is ... it may be right around that (6000 or 7000 lbs). Good point. I was thinking of my 318ti which is a goooooood deal lighter

I have a good number of projects to do on that yet where a lift would be nice (especially since it's lowered and I have to put it on ramps or jack it up in the front to even get an oil pan under there to do a change).

I looked all over the site and couldn't find the amperage for the motor.
It's listed as a single phase Motor: 110-220 VAC / 50-60 Hz. 1Ph.
but nothing is said about how much current the motor will draw under
load.

Aside from the kitchen, fridge, and washer many homes only have
15 amp circuits in the garage. If the motor is rated @ 20 or more
running amps then another circuit may be required.

We have looked at a house with it, you might have to have your garage door redone, and the openers that one had were "pro" and didn't do clickers.
