But ya to answer your Q realchef, I love those window vents. I've had them on for years now. They are OEM from BMW. They are useful in the rain, you can crack your window open a bit, and when it is really hot outside since they are smoked they keep the UV rays out.
Not so filthy overall! Still looks good!

Thanks for the info. Been looking to get vents.

Get them! If I remember correctly they aren't expensive. And installing them is easy, they basically slide in.

Cleaned the X up:

A cheap fix to frozen door locks...

I didn't have a garage when I was living in an apartment two years ago, and my door handles were constantly frozen in the morning. I started parking my X so that the morning sun would shine on the driver's door. When I headed out to work the in morning, the door handle opened perfectly! No resistance or clicking! It worked every time. Luckily I now have a garage. During these single-digit days, I've been parking my X this way at work.

Thanks Michelle! You know later that night I searched the forum for a way to resolve the issue before going to the dealer, and I found an old thread in which you wrote the same thing about the sun, so the next day when i went to work I parked the frozen side in the sun, and after work, the problem was fixed! I won't be getting anymore car washes in this weather..
