Angry Got a broken blinker? You'd better get it fixed. The cost just went up.

Under a little-noted law that took effect Jan. 1, the cost of a fix-it ticket has nearly tripled, and drivers who are tardy taking care of a burned-out headlight or another mechanical problem could pay as much as $100 for an offense that a few years ago didn't cost a penny.

Read on cause there's more.

What's a blinker? If you mean turn signal, they don't use them here in Arizona for some reason...

I think you're more likely to be pulled for using one of those back home...

First off, indicator stalks are optional equipment in some states. Like NC for example.

Secondly, $25 per violation is quite a lot, but VA charges more.

VA Violations short list
$30 Equipment Violation (each charge)
$50 Failure to correct defects §46.2-1158
$30 Failure to dim headlamps while moving
$30 Failure to give proper signal (I'm sure this is enforced )
$30 Failure to secure load
$30 Following too closely
Speeding in residential zone: $200+ $7/mph

Of course, add the $51 processing fee and $10 local fees per violation.

Oh who cares. This just goes in the same pile of "Nobody follows it" as the Cell Phone Law and No-Texting Law. I couldn't care less, besides only stupid people get caught texting and talking on their cell phone. The intelligent people LOOK for a police officer and when one is near put their phone on speaker and wait till he/she goes by then resume their conversation. Same goes for Texting

Nope

The cell phone/texting law should be called the "unaware peoples law" because anyone who is aware of their surroundings won't be caught.

Isn't it a secondary crime anyway? OR can they pull you over just for that?
