I was turning around last night on a rural road pulling into a driveway with a gate about 20 feet down the drive when I hit a chain stretched across the driveway 5 feet into the driveway. I was going about 5 miles an hour and luckily I was not intending to drive all the way to the gate so I was on my brakes before I actually hit the chain.

Deep scratches all across the hood front to back and side to side. I guess it could have been worse if the chain was about 10-12 inches lower or if I kept going. There was no way I would have seen that chain.

Time for some new paint.
