I saw an article on this today http://featuresblogs.chicagotribune....letterman.html which had the same link to the video "highlights". I was taken aback by how Joaquin Phoenix looked on Letterman!
He used to look like this...

Doooood! I saw this last night and laughed so hard. It was about 10 minutes of the most awkward TV I have ever seen. What was he on? He was fidgeting and scratching the whole time. It was funny, but I actually felt bad for him after it was over.

I don't know if he was acting but Hollywood and the likes of Phoenix are crazy enough to actually go off the deep end.
 I think the way Letterman handled it was classic. The Unabomber line was priceless!  And "I think we owe Farah Fawcett an apology" was also great.

that is one funny video, he is either one of the best actors out there or that is a lesson to anyone famous that thinks they can take heavy drugs an function on TV.....hahah "do you have any funny stories to tell us?......" -Letterman ..lol
