If Apple released something even similar to the PSP, it would cost ~$500, and it wouldn't even have the games.

Yup! And, thousands upon hundreds of thousands of people will RUSH to their nearest Apple store to buy one. And I'll be one of them!

I didn't get the idea that it was going to be a portable gaming system. (but of course I have no more infor than anyone else).That would really be a surprise. I'm like others who believe that it will just play video shorts. If it plays whole movies that will really be something. The Standard iPod can't hold a charge long enough to play music files so it will be of interest to see how they accomplish the movie thing. I guess the fun is in the guessing. One Yahoo article put it this way.""All the signs point to a video iPod," said Tim Bajarin, an analyst with Creative Strategies. "But you've got to remember, the thing with Apple is, our guesses are almost always wrong."
