Cool American Flyer Trains Updated 11/1/09

My dad has an American Flyer collection. He had a set up in the basement when we were kids. He's at it again. Over the years he has been making houses and barns and factories for the layout in his mind. These aren't models that snap together. One piece can take him months. The detail is incredible. Well after many many years and sketches everywhere, he's finally started the layout. This should be cool.

It's in the early stages, just framed out. He's not even finished with that yet. I'll take a few pics later.

As for being into trains... very much so. My grandpa bought my mom a set before she was born (he thought they were having a boy). She still has that set to this day and every year at Christmas they put it around the tree. That was enough to get me hooked. Of course money and space has never let me go as far as I've wanted with it. I'm a huge Lionel O gauge fan. My parents have a 1948 2-8-4 Berkshire, can't remember the number on the engine... think it's 768. I have a Lionel NYC 4-6-4 J1-e Hudson with Vanderbuilt tender, a set of NYC passenger cars, and a set of maroon PennRR passenger cars. I have yet to find the engine I want for the PennRR

L, please take pics cause I'd really like to see what your dad sets up.

You got it Guiness. It will be a work in progress shown here on X5World. Last time he had waterfalls and all kinds of cool stuff. Everything to scale. I'll start when I get home from sunny Florida.

Here's a peek at what dad has done so far. No trains yet, just the basic layout. If you guys are interested I'll update with pics every few weeks so you can see his progress.
