That's what I'm hoping for. I also appreciate how well it seems to integrate with the iPhone as far as syncing goes.

Yah, when you have everything apple, it all goes well together.
Only thing I didn't like when I first got my Mac was safari. I was trying to order some clothes online from polo.com and safari kept crashing. The apple store recommended me to use Camino, a third party internet browser based on Safari and Firefox and I used it for a good year and a half. I have used safari since leopard came out. Also, some site say you need Internet explorer or firefox and safari is not compatible.

Now Safari 4 is out

For syncing, you're gonna want to get a MOBILME account. It's a $100/yr, APPLE email, online storage, website, account.

It keeps all of my cpu's sync'd with almost no issue. So my two lap tops, my two desktops and my Iphone, all share information like:
Calendar, Contacts, Email, Bookmarks for web browsing, seamlessly.

A change on one system or update will automatically update all the others. It's actually brilliant. And you don't need to ever sync your iphone to a computer tethered unless you are syncing music or movies, etc.

change a contact, make an appointment, browse your email, on any system and it will update all your other devices.

A Mobileme account will give you your MAC email address which will be a "me" or "mac" if you have had it for a while, or both.. For example:
[email protected]

You're also going to want to use:
MAC MAIL
Ical
and ADDRESS BOOK.

They system is the best it's ever been and I've never had a blackberry or a program like Entourage that works as seamlessly as MOBILME. Of course though, you do have to use the proprietary MAC software for it to work..
But the MAC software works remarkably well.

I have a few Mobile me accounts and a family pack subscription laying around. I use it mostly for email and iDisk. I still have to set it up to sync all my computers.

I wonder if a MobileMe account will really do me much good. I will only have the one Macbook Air and no other computers, and just one iPhone. So syncing will be simple, and only between two devices. MobileMe does sound nice in that it backs everything up online. However, what's really the chance that both my iPhone and Macbook will both fail at the same time. So even if one was to fail, the other would retain the information. It sounds like it's something that's much more useful if you have 3 or more devices that you want to sync.

You could use some of the Mobile Me features such as iDisk on windows PC. Also, you get the @Mac.com which is a lot better than gmail and yahoo.

IIRC, it syncs over the air. I kind of wish I had it right now, since I've been charging my iPhone through the wall connector rather than through my laptop...

Been a Mac user since the tiny classic. My wife is a graphic artist so that was why. I have owned many and currently use a Titanium Powerbook G4 for work. That is about 8 years old. I take it to work everyday plug it in and unplug it all the ports, have dropped it several times it has never let me down and runs flawlessly. I can't to huge video on it, but for my job it works fine and still looks good.

As far as syncing with the iPhone very easy. Right now we have 3 others running at home have owned many since the mid 80's and don't think I have ever had one serviced for any reason.
