Many years ago I used to know a guy who was the "criminal" type. I think he is in prison now. He was involved in just about every illegal thing you can imagine at some point or another. I think they finally put him away for selling drugs.

But for a while he used to sell illegal guns. Him and a buddy used to drive down south, buy guns from a regular gun store in a state where you could just walk in, pay cash, and walk out with your guns. Then they used to drive back north to NYC, file off the serial numbers, and sell them on the street in Brooklyn for 300-400% profit.

That's how criminals get their guns. They don't smuggle them in from other countries, and they don't have illegal gun factories where they manufacture them.

Making it more difficult for people to buy guns will easily cut down on this sort of thing.

It will also increase gun smuggling. It will put a higher percentage of guns in the hands of criminals. Right now criminals with guns are vastly outnumbered by legal gun owners, the risk of robbing a house with a legal gun owner that will shoot you dead will decrease making crime easier.

You only make it more difficult for honest law abiding people, Criminals don't buy legal guns.

What is your point? YOU AREN'T MAKING IT ANY SAFER! You are just annoying people...oh dang..that is why you like it At this point I don't really think you have a point, you're just trollin' Oh and as far as "not getting them" because gun stores don't "have them". Have you not heard of eBay or the Internet? You can buy "legally online" millions of clips that are deemed "illegal".

I totally agree that creating BS regulations will do nothing but cause more illegal gun laws. Much like speed limits, marijuana, drinking, everything, these laws are almost made to be broken.

But the people living in Miami with the speed boats full of white stuff appreciate you for creating a new industry for them.

Sorry for the ignorance, but which model guns are manufactured in the Caribbean or Latin America?

We know drugs are smuggled from Latin America where they are produced. Obviously you think guns will be smuggled the same way. Which country produces these guns?

Where there is waterfront, there is a way. Or they'll just smuggle them through Canada...

Has anyone been reading the news out of Mexico? We're worrying about gun laws, gangs down there are roaming with full grade military assault rifles. But by all means, lets waste our time on magazine size. More "size" envy in the USA

I am fine with making it harder for the average person to get guns. Doesn't bother me at all. However, I do think that we need to increase the consequesnces for committing a crime with a gun 10-fold.

We have a huge issue with guns in this country. We consistently rank near the top of the list when it comes to crimes committed with firearms and shootings. Other countries where guns are illegal have much better statistics than we do.

Something needs to be done. Many of you probably lock your guns up and do what you are supposed to do, but a lot of people don't. You guys who go to the range or whatever will go through the mess of getting one if you want it bad enough. I sure don't think making guns easier to get will send us in the right direction.

Here is a great idea. In this rough economy, why doesn't the gov't step up and offer a cash premium for people to turn in hand guns? Even illegal ones on an anonymous basis. Cash for guns would be great right about now with everyone hurting so bad.
