Ok, tell that to our current politicians that want to reward poverty and punish wealth... how about more section 8 housing with a stimulus check in the mailbox! Thats not a breeding ground for crime.... not at all.

Our politicians don't really care. Not a single president or congress since the 1960s has done anything with their goal being to decrease poverty. And I have yet to hear a single person on this forum post an idea which they think will dramatically decrease poverty in the United States.

Care to take a crack at it? If you were king, absolute ruler of the United States, what policy would you implement to decrease poverty over the next 5 years?

Sorry, internet BS, usually written by those partial to the .45 who grudgingly accept the .40 as "pretty close". All handgun rounds are pathetic manstoppers. Shot placement is much more important than any other factor.

Go with the XD-9 Service or Tactical. You will love it! Very accurate, light, ergonomic, and minimal recoil.

Well, if you have data to back it up, prove me wrong. I am simply saying that as a lifelong shooter, and a physician who has treated gunshot wounds for over 20 years, I have a bit of knowledge on this subject. Most of the basis for the "stopping power" stuff is decades old, and does not apply to modern premium hollow-point ammo. Modern stuff all meets the FBI standards, regardless of caliber. Add to that the medical issues, which is that a 9 mm hole in the brain will kill just as quickly as an 11 mm (.45) hole in the brain. The 11 mm hole in the foot will do very little. Placement of decent modern bullets in vital organs is what is true "stopping power".

I can go on for days, but I will end this little thread hijack, and return you to your previous political discussion.

I have hydroshocks for the .40 sig, that's my stopping power. As for caliber of round, you can get a one round kill with a .22 if you know where to shoot. Proper placement beats size of round, and the smaller rounds usually allow for better shooting.

That said I will make a range run this weekend with my friends XD 9mm compact, and if I like it as much as expected will start the purchase of the XD tactical... then see how long I hold out before getting the HK USP .45. (gotta tell myself to wait!)

I have the HK USP .40 and love it...The .45 is a great gun as well.
I imagine a well placed bb gun shot would have some "stopping power" too, right ?
Sorry man, some people take this waaaaay to seriously -- maybe its the 'god complex' thing, who knows...
