Nug-mergency

lady in FL calls 911 after McDonald's ran out of nuggets. (Called three times) They wouldn't give her a refund which is the fault of the cashier no having a clue, but calling 911.

she's getting a gift card for a free meal. JUSTICE!

I listened to this one yesterday at work and died laughing! "She can't make me what I don't wanna".

While I don't believe that she used the 911 system properly. I do believe she was very much in the right. And if I paid for something and someone told me "we don't have it" and then refused to give me my money back, I'd be pissed too.

And while she certainly blew things out of proportion, I think McDonalds owes her a lot more than just a free meal. How dare they refuse to give her her money back... That would cause emotional distress and I'm confident she might have some sort of law suit against them.

Being angry wasn't the point. Being stupid was.

An intelligent person would have called 911 and said: I was just robbed at McD's. They took my money and I have nothing to show for it.

Emotional distress? Everyone experiences that 100 times a day. Just take a drive! People should grow up and get over it. Life is too short to worry about nuggets. A few weeks ago I got a cold burger at McD's. I told the cashier it was cold, she gave me an evil look, I pushed the tray back towards her and walked out. She can keep the burger, the fries, the drink, my money AND her at tit tude.

If i was calling 911 to report an accident or other serious situation and the operator was busy dealing with a lady like this... oh man, its absurd.

I agree with the fact I would be extremely pissed too. The overreaction and lack of willingness to deal with it on her own as an adult is what I find so ridiculous.

For example - I am and always have been EXTREMELY allergic to dairy products. I have an anaphylactic reaction to even small traces of things like cheese on my food. I have gone through the drive through at places and picked up something only to realize when I get home that it has cheese on what I've ordered. Rather than get all pissed and huffy and go back and demand a refund, I simply give them a call, let them know what happened politely and I have always received a gift card for the trouble (even though I have never asked for one). I think clearly the issue here was that the cashier was not trained properly to offer a refund, so the woman should have asked for the most senior person at the restaurant and explained the situation. If that didn't work, find out the owner of the franchise and give them a call on the spot so they know the chick is serious. If all else fails, just leave the friggen restaurant and bug the owner via phone, email, letter if it's that big of a deal!

Wasting the time and resources used for THREE 911 phone calls and making an officer come to the scene is absurdity if I have ever heard of it. That's three 911 operators, likely several police dispatchers, at least one officer, and other collateral people involved to solve the petty complaint of a whopping $3.50. (BTW - why didn't someone tell her not to call 911 over and again because it was so frivolous?? If I was there, I would have said hang up the damn phone here's free-fity get the hell the outta here!)
