had 275/30R19's on my M3 with BBS forged wheels.

Handling was amazing, but it was a harsher ride. I never bent a wheel nor popped a tire in a pothole driving 3 years in SE michigan (horrible roads). I bottomed out many times, but having very strong wheels help tremendously!

Remember that 30 is the % of the tire width, so if the tire is wide, it would be similar to a thinner tire with a higher aspect ratio.

i.e. 275/30 is around the same as a 255/35

if the tire was a 225/30, then that's a different story.

Yeah they were 225/30 R 20 Pirelli P Zero's if I remember correctly, which would make their sidewall height 67.5 mm. It just looked insane to me. BMW rims are not known to be bulletproof, that's for sure.

Yesterday I saw a small Buick with 24 inch wheels.
Everybody was cracking up at how dumb it looked.
Not sure what possesses someone to spend that much money
on an old Buick.

see that all the time here in philly, saw a 1989 corolla lifted with the wheel wells carved out painted a glossy orange with 24's... i still think the best are the mini vans on rims.
