Sure, but it can also get you fired. They are set that way for a reason. The company pays for Internet access and they pay you when you're at work. If you pull porn up and someone us offended, the company is responsible. They can fire you, but they are still responsible.

And not only do we block certain web sites, but we monitor the rest so that we can report on your surfing and email habits to your boss, should he ask. WiFi won't help you. All very transparent, since the company will likely have had you sign a conditions of use form when they gave you the PC, and you will have acknowledged your agreement to the corporate policies. At my company, violation of PC use policies qualifies as gross misconduct.

No offense but you have one horrible employer. No joke! My brother works for a company where the CEO takes the whole company to vail every year with ALL expenses paid. The on fridays starting at 4 someone goes out a buys beer and they can all enjoy it in there cubical/office.

What JCL described is how my company operates too, how most large corporations work.

And at my place some people have lost their job because of that.
