Are you sure you didn't pass a Code Pink rally instead?

The left has a tendency to bus in homeless people to protests, in which case what you say is true. I can guarantee you that nearly everyone over 18 voted at the one I went to, from all different income levels, and not all Republicans. We didn't damage any public or private property, nor did we leave the place a mess.
If you watch CNN and saw the shoddy job they did reporting, or listen to that slimy windbag b-list celebtard Garafalo, you might think that the tea parties were an out of control protest littered with the scum of the earth. However, I'd say most of the people there were hard working individuals, and unlike our treasury secretary, actually pay their taxes every year. The out of control spending and the absolute quickness that the so-called stimulus bill got passed woke many people up about our government and the mortgaging of our future. All the while giving the government more and more power. I don't think that the founders had this current state of affairs in mind.
