Cool After 9 years of driving a BMW X5 the lurker has left the building.

9 years ago, I bought my first X5 (Jet Black/Black 3.0i).
I liked it so much, I traded it in 4 1/2 years ago for a new one (Alpine White/Black 4.4i).

Since the black interior was basically the same in both X5's, from the driver's seat, I was getting older and dare I say . . . boring.

Although I am not nearly as ancient as the old man of X5world (who somehow can still take pictures without shaking), I felt a need to add a little spice in my life.

So instead of growing an ugly unibrow and mixing music, I decided to look at other vehicles!

When a search on Cars.com revealed a 2006 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S nearby, I decided to take a test drive. In a word . . . WOW!

Now some of you may want to point me toward a certain upcoming M version of the X5. Although I am sure that will be equally impressive, I am also sure it will be much more expensive than my CPO Turbo S. I bought the 2006 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S for less than half the price of the original, yet they still gave me the whole Cayenne. No wonder the CPO market is doing well despite the incredible downturn in the new car business. The previous owner leased the Porsche for exactly three years . . . so I have almost three full years of CPO warranty.

If SuperGreg will reduce my post count to three, I promise to continue lurking around this excellent website . . . even if it was not really all about the porn.

Life is short, enjoy the ride.
Bigfoot

p.s. This is the point where some people will want to see some photographic evidence. Here you go . . .

Cool X Outpost . . . where former X5 drivers go to lurk

Thanks.

So far, so good. Although BMW has a far superior heated steering wheel, I am willing to suffer with this old Porsche for a while.

The Porsche CPO has the same coverage as the new car warranty, again, not as good as BMW, but full coverage for the big stuff.

I miss the X outpost already!

Cool Answering Feedback

Yes, I will report back with pros/cons and comparisons.

No, I will not be racing. My kids need me alive and since I only paid half price, I should only use half the top speed. (Now if I lived in Germany . . . pedal to the metal)

Except for my white X5, my vehicles have been black. Initially, I did not think I would like the blue, but in person, it looks awesome. The wheels clinched the deal.

6speedonline.com is my preferred Porsche forum.

Horsepower = 520
Torque = 530
Yeah, I like the power!

It's time for Sunday pizza so bye for now.
