Anti-Semetic Audi dealer?

I came across this ad on Autotrader while looking at Audi A6 Avants. (We already found and bought the one we wanted but I was curious what is stil out there.) I came across this ad. Maybe I'm reading it wrong but WTF is up with them? If this is the non-offensive, politically correct version I'd hate to see what they had before. Incidentally, a "schnorrer" is a Yiddish term for beggar or more commonly, someone who tries to get something for nothing, especially when it comes to money and negotiations.

Just in case the ad goes bye-bye here is the write-up from Mohegan Lake Motors Audi's ad.

"Seller's Description and Comments

In the interests of not offending anyone. In the interests of not being suspended by Audi again (three strikes and you're out) for politically insensitive remarks. In the interest of full disclosure, may I say that if you are genetically inclined to negotiate the last penny... if your friends call you a "Schnorrer", if you're wife is embarrassed when you ask at the Carvel stand if they can throw in the sprinkles, when you buy two cones, then this is definitely not the car for you. You see flat out... THIS CAR IS EXPENSIVE!!! Yes, it is! But you need to know that the window sticker for this car was $61,665... let me repeat $61,665. THERE ARE NO NEW AVANTS. This was a factory executive model that we had to have. It has 2843 miles... 2,843 miles. It has options we didn't even know about... like adaptive cruise control. We had to have this car.... 30 other Audi dealers tried to buy this car... WE WON,.. WE BOUGHT THIS CAR. It's very simple.... we are pricing the car at $42,995 with Audi Certification and we have like zero room in the deal... We know the car "aint cheap." We also know we haven't sold a new A-6 Avant in 18 months, 'cause $61,000 is just a tad too high for any station wagon... even an Audi. So, if you can swallow your pride, this car is actually A STEAL. It's virtually new.... within a hair of being new. We are kinda sorta smart enough to know that when we crossed the $40,000 price point, we lost some of you. However, if you have an Avant... if you are leasing an Avant and need a replacement, this is truly an intelligent choice. And if you buy it, we'll throw in the sprinkles on your ice cream cones. Please, I'm appealling to you as a fellow human being.... this isn't the right car to try to rob.... If you consider it is one of a kind, it is truly reasonable."

Not only is the ad offensive, it's rude, condescending, exaggerated, and did I mention offensive? I would never buy that car or any other car from them. Aside from being a a-holes, it is overpriced by a long shot and it's not all that special. It's missing three options that I can tell are missing just from the pictures.

Free country, you can not buy it.

I agree with ya, but ehh, not really worth the time...just don't buy a car from them.

Just look at their web page and laugh...

VIN WAUKF78E46A227174
Stock 17370
"Please don't fire my Daddy.... Please don't fire my Daddy." How sad, how sad. The two little tykes of Mr. Markie, (one of our managers) are balling their eyes out, 'cause Mr. Barry, our esteemed dealer principal is furious that Mr. Markie bought this car. "It's too damn much money," ranted Mr. Barry. "But, Mr. Barry, the sticker price is and was $42,135..... if you could get an '09 like this one it would be $48,000." "Mr. Markie, you don't move this one pronto... You're Fired!!!" Gee, Mr. Barry sounds just like Donald Trump. So little Sean makes this appeal. "Please, don't let my Daddy get fired.... this is a nice car.... this is a very nice car and my Daddy says the car is lowed, I mean loaded." Kailyn, Mr. Markie's beautiful little girl said, " Please don't be cheap... don't be a cheapo." And finally a direct appeal from Mr. Markie.... "My fellow Americans. I bought this Audi A-4 Avant because it was the most heavily equipped Avant, east of the Mississippi. It only has 24,000 miles.. (I need this job) it is incredibly equipped... it has Navigation, technology package, (I need this job) premium package, premium audio, (I need this job) Bose sound, Bluetooth... it is virtually perfect... no scratches or dents... it is a beautiful combination (my kids really eat a lot), Dolphin Gray with Black leather.... I know you will love this car (as much as I love my job).... I need to sell this car, (I need my job), I priced this car at the lowest lowest lowest price I could, with Audi Certification.... $27,995. I know you would like to pay less... (I would like to keep my job) we have other Avants for less, but not like this one. On behalf of myself, my lovely wife and beautiful kids, I would like to thank you in advance for buying this car.... not beating me up (too much) on the price, and doing it rather quickly." "Thank you...thank you, very much." More info

Scumbags...

I've been called a cheap Jew before when trying to buy a car.. Simply because I don't believe in letting dealers take advantage of me, or allowing finance managers to sneak points into the deal..

Though when it happened to me, I was dealing with Premiere Sports Cars in Missouri who deals with pre-owned, Porsche's..

I do think however, a US dealership representing a high line, German branded car, should have a little more sensitivity than saying, "don't Jew me on this fabulous car.."

Interesting. This is actually one of the closest Audi dealers to my house. In fact, I know I have two friends who bought an A6 and a Q7 from these people. These friends of mine also happen to be Jewish.
Without a doubt, this ad is definitely arrogant and obnoxious. On a side note, I do not think this is a very high volume Audi dealer. Any Audi I see around me is usually bought at Jack Daniels Audi in Fairlawn, NJ (One of the highest volume Audi dealers in America if I am not mistaken).

It is a drastically different culture within the walls of an automobile dealership as compared to a corporate environment of a Fortune 500 company.

In the car business, you, the customer, are profiled from the moment you walk into the dealership. You are age profiled, race profiled, gender profiled, and status profiled. What you're wearing and what you drove up in are scrutinized. The rush to judgement is somehow equated to the concept that time is money, so emphasis is placed on the perception of who is going to be your next deal.

If you're living and breathing this attitude day in and day out, it becomes you, so I'm not surprised by the hostile ads. Used car sales managers are some of the most arrogant people on the face of the earth.

I would also lay odds that the person who wrote the ad is also Jewish and probably possesses a self-deprecating sense of humor, although he (it can't be a she) has no understanding of the harm it causes.

I have a bunch of Jewish friends. I hear the word "schnorrer" almost as often as the word "schlepper." I don't consider the words to be offensive when spoken among friends. It's a sense of entitlement and almost of a mock celebration of their unique heritage, similar to a black saying the N word to another black.

Sorry, don't agree.

I think the little preface, "if you're GENETICALLY inclined to negotiate the last penny" followed by the yiddish remark.. denotes that this sales person, owner, manager, etc. is not Jewish.

If he said, "I like a good deal, so if you're like "me" this car might not be for you."
Then I might agree.

This guy is saying, Don't Jew me. And phrases like that don't come from Jews. We say, don't rip me off.

I get that. That's why I parked my car away from the dealership and walk over and wear simple clothes. I don't want them thinking that I've got money, which I don't, nor do I want them to think that I'm a tire kicker and will waste their time. I will always ask questions I know the answers to just to see how full of sh!t the salesman is. It sucks that as a customer who just wants a fair deal, I have to play the game.

Not a problem. I actually thought of you when I read the ad because of your recent post about how to negotiate a car sale/lease. I accept that (used) car dealers are pretty obnoxious and arrogant but this ad was beyond and I just had to share it here.
